Christine & Jim October 17th 2009

My 2009 wedding season ended with Christine & Jim’s wedding in Brandon, Vermont at the Lilac Inn. Christine and Jim had an incredible fall day and were wonderful to work with. We took some great shots in the leaves, and in the Lilac Inn’s gardens.

Burlington Brawl 7

I am always excited to mix things up a bit and photograph an event that is outside of my usual routine.  This was my third time photographing the Burlington Brawl. The Brawl is always a high energy and exciting event. I really have to work fast to keep up with all of the action. Every time I leave these events, not only do I have some neat images, but I’ve gotten a work-out too!

Jodi & Christian October 10th 2009

Jodi and Christian had a perfect fall day for their wedding. It was sunny and the colors where in full peak at the Essex Culinary Resort. We had a blast taking images and exploring the resort. I really like the abstract art near the entrance.

Cindy & Tim October 3rd 2009

After photographing Cindy and Tim’s engagement session, I knew their wedding was going to be just as fun. They had the perfect fall wedding with the leaves full of color. The only way you could tell it was raining was from the umbrellas in the photographs.

David Beckstead Workshop

I recently had the opportunity to attend a workshop by David Beckstead at the New England Institute of Professional Photography. David’s creative approach to photographing weddings has earned him several prestigious awards. The workshop lasted a short five days and was a great experience. I took away some great tips and some cool images.

Burgandy & Courtney Engagement Session

I’ve known both Burgandy and Courtney since before they were a couple, and so their engagement session was very special to me. I was honored when they asked me to photograph their wedding as well. We did their engagement session at Shelburne Farms, which is an incredible place and one of my favorite sites to take photographs.

Christine & Jim Engagement

For Christine and Jim’s engagement session we met at their wedding location, the Lilac Inn. We had a great time exploring the Inn and got some great shots in the leaves. Then we went to Middlebury, where we took some idyllic images in the town and near Otter Creek. We ended with a few shots that included their dog. It was a beautiful day!

Stina’s Head Shots

I have been in need of some professional head shots for awhile. So, when my friend and fellow photographer Stina Booth called me recently, we decided to take each other’s photos. Despite the cold, we had a lot of fun shooting in Burlington. Here are some of my favorites. Thanks Stina :)

Kevin Kubota Workshop

When it comes to wedding photography, Kevin Kubota is highly regarded as one of the best in the world.  I was fortunate to be able to meet him recently at a workshop at Sugar Bush Resort.  Kevin has developed several Photoshop actions to help digital photographers with work flow and editing…many of which I use in my own work flow. It was a privilege to meet and learn from Kevin.

2010 Penguin Plunge

The day was cold, and Lake Champlain was even colder, but it didn’t stop 1,200 people from jumping in! It was such an honor to be invited back to photograph the Burlington Penguin Plunge. The plunge is a fundraiser for the Special Olympics of Vermont. It’s always rewarding to help such a great organization. Hats off to all the plungers who braved the water!
